| Although I've never seen Michael Jackson live or met him in person before, it breaks my heart to hear that he has passed away. He was only 50. Sorry to say, I have never felt this upset before upon the bad news of a celebrity death. They have been shocking, but never have set off real sad emotions. I am blinking back tears right now and can't believe how down I feel... I am sure there are millions of fans all over the world who also find today a very sad one.
In a way, I feel he will be in a better place where nobody will attack or take take advantage of him. There were too many ignorant people who made fun of him and made accusations, not realizing what he really represented. I can't think of any other music artist who is as original as he was. He wasn't afraid to be original and different from the rest, he was modest, never boasted about his fame or his material possessions, and always gave a positive message through his songs. He genuinely lived as himself and never pretended to be someone he wasn't. I believe that is why he has always stood out from the rest. He will always be remembered as one who was always giving to others and continuing to show love even through times of loneliness and the tremendous hardships he was faced with.
REST IN PEACE KING OF POP MICHAEL JACKSON 08/29/58 - 06/25/09 You will always be remembered

| I got a traffic ticket by mail for "not stopping at a red light." I was making a right turn at a red light, and it was not at an intersection that had a sign posted saying "no right turn on red." I remember slowing down before making the turn, and unless you're suicidal, why would anyone not slow down at a red light, right?
California is known for the California stop, which is where one slows down and kind of rolls through a stop instead of completely stopping for a whole three seconds before proceeding. Well, let me tell you, my paranoia of possibly getting another ticket has gotten me to break the California-stop habit immediately after I found out how much I was fined! $480 without traffic school or $541 with traffic school, not including the cost of taking traffic school. I just paid the latter today, and I think it's going take me a while to get over the upsetting fact that I just wasted more than half a $1,000 of my hard-earned money and what I could have actually done with that instead.
Can you imagine what would happen if the three-second complete stop was enforced in Los Angeles? Anyway, for all you drivers out there who have the California-stop habit, please be aware that that habit can cost you a lot of money that you can be using towards something else.

| Wayne Robinson, 24, and Dominique Fisher, 22, first met at a nightclub in Blackpool on June 12th of last year and afterwards spent the night together at the Cliffs hotel. They had been drinking and using cocaine. Robinson then spent the next two nights at her place where they both drank alcohol and took around 30 tablets of Valium between them. On Sunday morning around 2:30 a.m. Robinson woke up covered in blood while Fisher was ’snoring her head off’ next to him. He found that the name Dominique had been carved into his right shoulder, a tribal design carved into his left arm, and a star carved into his back with a Stanley knife.
At the Preston Crown Court, Fisher claimed that he asked her for the tattoos. Robinson told the jury that he didn’t remember anything except for laying on the bed, watching television, drinking vodka, taking Valium, and chatting. He denies ever giving her consent to carve tattoos into his skin. The jury believed his story over hers, and Fisher was convicted of unlawful wounding. She will be back in court on February 27th for her sentencing.
What a nightmare! Never go home with a stranger when you know you’re going to be drunk and drugged up to the point where you can’t even feel a knife carving into your skin. He’s lucky he’s alive, but the poor guy has to live with those scars along with the crazy lady’s name on his body for the rest of his life. And you thought tattoos were permanent!

| Wow, it's been a while since I've posted anything! School and work have been taking up most of my time. Studying for my Law class has been quite confusing at times but still very interesting so far. I got a 96 on my first Law exam, so I guess so far, so good. As for my stenography class, all my practicing has paid off, because I am not writing at 180 wpm on my machine. Hopefully, by the end of next year, I'll be even closer to the school requirement of 225 wpm.
Work has been a bit stressful these past few months. Black Friday was horrible because having stayed up late on Thanksgiving, I was only able to get two to three hours of sleep before opening the store at 5 a.m. the next morning, which left me feeling sick for the rest of the day. I've also been spending more time at work than usual due to an employee who frequently skipped out on work without calling, which usually led to my being stuck at work after my shift. After this employee was finally let go, I was in charge of training a new employee and coming in to take care of minor emergencies at the store as well. Now with Christmas just around the corner, I have been working longer hours, and I just can't wait until this month is over so that I'll be back to working normal hours and have more time for other things.
While spending so much time at work, at school, and on the road, I have found a number of things that have been repeatedly annoying me, and every time these same things occur, they become even more aggravating. Sometimes, I wonder, Would these things annoy other people too, or am I just overreacting? Here are some of my recent annoyances:
AT WORK (as a photographer): Before printing the customer's package, we show them all the different poses that were taken so that they could choose which pictures they would like to have included in their package.
1. I often see the wife asking her husband, "Honey, which picture do you think looks good?" or "Which picture do you like?" If the husband were to say, "Pick any one. I don't care, " the wife usually repeats what she had said earlier. When the husband comes over, takes a look, and chooses one, the wife will either: A) tell him to choose another one, or B) choose a different one than the husband did
I have seen both of these choices lead into an argument, because choice A usually led to the husband replying, "You choose then," while walking away, and the wife getting angry, complaining that he's not helping her. Choice B usually led to the husband saying something like, "Why are you asking me to choose one if you're not even going to get it?" Ladies, let's not make things so confusing!
2. A group of girls will also get into an argument. Each girl will choose a different picture and get upset that the others want a different picture than the one they want. The girls usually try convincing the others to get the one they want by saying things like, “You look pretty in this one!” to which the other will reply, “I look ugly in that picture! You just like it because you look pretty in that one!” Then the first girl would reply, “No, I’m not! You really look pretty in this one.” This cycle usually continues for about half an hour or more, until they finally choose what they want and not everyone’s happy.
3. I get a lot of Spanish-speaking customers who don’t speak a word of English. Fortunately, I studied Spanish in high school for three years. Unfortunately, that was more than ten years ago, and having forgotten most of what I learned from a lack of using it in my daily life, I am not as fluent as I would like to be. So I just do the best I can to communicate with my Spanish-speaking customers, and usually, I don’t have a problem. However, it aggravates me and often pisses me off when a few of them are very rude when I am unable to understand them fully. They will ask me, “No hablas espanol?!” in a manner that seems to be of shock, as if everyone should know how to speak Spanish. I wasn’t trying to be rude, but I have replied to this question twice now, “No hablas ingles?!” First of all, I am obviously Asian. Do I look like I speak Spanish? Second, I realize there are a lot of Spanish speakers here, but this is the United States of America! Our primary language is English! Do not get me wrong; I have nothing against Spanish-speakers, but Please! Learn some English!
4. Is there such thing as elevator etiquette? Almost every morning, I go downstairs to Coffee Bean to grab a bagel and coffee for breakfast. I usually prefer stairs over the elevator, but the stairs are out of the way, and the closest thing is the elevator, so that’s what I take, twice, when I go to Coffee Bean. You would think people automatically have a very basic logic of how to behave before getting on an elevator right? At least, that’s what I thought. Do parents teach their kids to consider others at all? I hate it when:
A) You’re trying to exit the elevator when, before you can even step out, people just start pouring into the elevator. This pisses me off the most!
B) The elevator door opens, and you see a group of people who have no thought whatsoever of making some room so that people can exit. They would just stand right in front of the elevator without budging so that the only way that people can exit is by squeezing past the herd. Is it so hard to make some room?
C) There’s usually a line or something similar to one in front of the elevator. I’ve seen people further away from the elevator door squeeze past all the people who are waiting ahead of them as the elevator door is opening, just so they can get in first. How rude is that?
ON THE ROAD:
I’m sure traffic bugs everyone, but I hate traffic that is caused by people slowing down to observe an accident, especially when the accident is not even on your side of the freeway. I think it’s a waste of everyone’s time. Don’t we all get on the road to get somewhere? I hate being late to places, and whenever people have to slow down to get a glimpse of who got hurt and how damaged the cars involved got, it’s very frustrating. Some people are close to causing accidents while watching accidents. If you like watching accidents and the like, do it on your own time instead of wasting other people’s time. They have shows like Real TV, Police Pursuits, etc. that you can watch at home where you will be less likely to cause an accident while watching!
AT SCHOOL:
There are a few students who have been stuck in a particular speed class for a year or more now. However, only one of them annoys me, and it is because of her attitude. Let’s just call her Sara. I used to be in her class, and I’ve noticed that whenever a student would pass out of the class, Sara would say things like, “I’ll be stuck here forever,” “I’ll be the only one left in this class,” “I can never pass the tests,” etc. She would also admit that she never has time to practice, and that she spends most her time volunteering to help with community events or walking her pets. I don’t think she should complain about her progress in school. Instead, she should make time to practice at home, that is, if she really wants to move up! Sometimes, we've got to make a few sacrifices.

| So what is Amy Winehouse doing when she's not singing, drinking, or doing drugs? Why, she's at a farm scaring away all the pigeons, of course!
Marlon Brooks, 36-year-old farmer from Ludlow, Norfolk had been trying to come up with ideas for a scarecrow to scare away pigeons that had been attacking his sugar beets. Finally, one of his pub mates, who was drunk at the time, came up with the idea of designing a scarecrow after Amy Winehouse because "nothing was as scary as Amy." He took his friend's advice and found the Amy Winehouse scarecrow to be an absolute success!
With her trademark beehive and tattoos, and clutching a cigarette and bottle of booze, Marlon reckons Amy should win another award - for services to the farming industry. "The pigeons are terrified, they're sitting up on the telephone wires too scared to come into the field which is brilliant. Every farmer needs an Amy scarecrow," he said. "She's the best scarecrow we've ever had, and she's doing a brilliant job. In fact, she's doing a better job scaring the birds than she is singing at the moment. I'd be happy to offer her a full time job if she needs one when the singing is over."
